Top 7 Family Bonding Road Trip Games

Family interaction game n. 1. “I see, I see” – with variations

No road trip would be complete without (many) “I see, I see” games.

This works especially for younger children. Take turns looking for something the other players have to guess correctly. You start your turn by saying “I see with my little eye something that begins with a (letter) _____”. The other player tries to guess it from the surrounding elements or the field. The person who guesses correctly will take the next turn.

Variations. How about if I see with my little eye something with a color of _______, or I see with my little eye something that is associated with _______ for example, flying (bird, plane), milking, plowing, riding (horse, bicycle, car, etc. )

Family interaction games # 2. Geography game

This is a great game for players (old and young) to brush up on their knowledge of the world.

The first player thinks of a place or country (say London). The next player has to think of a place or town or city with the last letter of the previously mentioned place. In this case it would be N, (for Naples), being the last letter of London, and so on. The game continues until someone is stumped and cannot think of an appropriate place. Each place, town or city can only be used once.

Family interaction games n. 3. When I was young / When you were born

From experience, children especially love to hear about 2 things: when they were born and when their parents were young, like them.

The game begins when one or both parents retell stories from their childhood and events surrounding the birth of the children. Stories related to parents’ schooling, how they traveled to school, how far they walked to school, and their favorite / worst teachers.

Birth events related to the hospital run, first impressions at birth, some important character traits, and first words are great conversation starters.

Family Interaction Games # 4. Math – License Plate Bingo

Good game to learn number recognition skills.

Each player lists the numbers from 1 to 50. Then they must look for those numbers on the license plates. Whoever completes their list first is the winner. To make this game go a bit longer, only license plates of a certain state or color can be used.

Family interaction games # 5. The best, the scariest, the best …

Each child (and parents) tries to remember a certain event in their lives (or from their imagination) using the following options or making their own: (each choice represents 1 round). Players agree on the type of event before each round.

My scariest time My best time My favorite vacation My most stressful event

Then each player recounts the event in their life (real or imagined). After each round, family members vote for the best story, based on originality and graphic detail. Whoever has the most votes wins the round. Whoever has the most winning rounds after 5 rounds wins.

Family Interaction Games # 6. Math – Finding Numbers

Each player (children and adults included) numbers from 1 to 100 in a column and the winner is the first player to find all the numbers on the list by finding the words or number symbols on advertisements, road speed signs, and road signs. distance. Write each occurrence against your list item as you find it.

Family Interaction Games # 7. Reversii Car Make / Model

This will make the whole car laugh … guaranteed! If you see a Cadillac Eldorado (for example) rush past players, quickly try to say the make and model spelled backwards. So for this example, the children will try to say “Callidac” (Cadillac spelled backwards) and the pronunciation would be something like Call-i-dac.

Then for the Odarodle model (Eldorado spelled backwards) they would try to say O-dar-odle. Once people are trying to say these words quickly, while other cars speed by, it quickly turns into a real laugh … you will remember this game for years. (I don’t know of anyone else who has played this game other than our family, so it could be said to be exclusive.)

I sincerely hope these games help the whole family have a great vacation …
