The best picnic spots in the US

I love visiting the US, there is so much to see and the choice is so diverse. So I thought I’d write about a really fun and inexpensive family picnic. If you are booking a vacation to the USA and just want to do a few simple things and spend time with your family, outdoors, enjoying the weather and scenery, the USA has some of the most beautiful places in the world to do this. .

Below I have mentioned some wonderful places to have a picnic. These are just some of my ideas and I hope they help you, but it might be an idea to consult an expert before making a decision when it comes to planning your vacation, after all I’m sure you’ll want to do more than just a picnic! This is where a good travel agent, who knows the area, will come in handy or better yet, why not try an online travel club? These are becoming so popular due to the variety of locations, accommodations, and travel plans that they can offer. I can personally recommend Primo Vacations, which is a low cost lifetime membership, but they offer a huge variety of heavily discounted actions, often up to 80% off.

Anyway, here are 5 top destinations in the US that are both great places to enjoy the outdoors and offer so much more.

  1. The Cumberland Islands in Georgia are one of the most beautiful places for outdoor activities. It is only a few hours drive from the southern part of Savannah. It is a national seashore that has been labeled a picnicking paradise. You can also pack a few things so you can enjoy hiking, camping, and swimming. Visiting the Cumberland Islands is a great option for people who want to experience peace and quiet here, as the National Park Service restricts 300 people on the island alone at any given time. The perfect place for a romantic picnic!
  2. Grand Park, Chicago is also another great destination where there are many gourmet delights for food lovers. Here you will find food festivals every year. You’ll also find live music, the art institute, impressive statues, rose gardens, and the addition of Millennium Park, featuring an outdoor music pavilion, ice skating rink, and theater built underground. as well as a modern fountain and an iconic monument, the Puerta de las Nubes. A 900-foot-long, Gehry-designed meandering walkway connects Daley Bicentennial Plaza in Grant Park with the new park. Another bridge, Nichols Bridgeway, connects Millennium Park with the Art Institute. Many events have taken place here in Grant Park, including on November 4, 2008, when Barack Obama accepted the office of President of the United States before a crowd of 125,000. 25
  3. Cranberry Islands, Maine is also another great designation for picnicking. At Cranberry Islands you’ll get a cool and relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Walk or bike safely around the islands and discover the interesting museums and quality gift shops, and the best mountain views of Acadia National Park. But the Cranberry Islands are true islands. To get here you must have your own boat, or rent one, leaving your car and the hustle and bustle at Mt. Desert.
  4. Red Rock Canyon Nevada, located just a short drive west of the Las Vegas Strip, with its glittering hotels, world-class restaurants and unparalleled entertainment options, Red Rock Canyon is an oasis in a neon desert. Here you can go horseback riding in the morning and have a Red Rock wedding in the afternoon or you can pet the wild burros that line the road right at feeding time. Alternatively, you can go rock climbing and hiking, where you will see wild horses, bighorn sheep and wild donkeys roaming free. What a place for a picnic!
  5. Big Sur, California, this region is approximately 89 miles (143 km) in length along California’s Coastal Highway 1 and is located between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles area. Hiking trails in the Big Sur region range from relatively flat nature trails through the trees or along the rocky shoreline, suitable for children or people with disabilities, to challenging routes for long day hikes or overnight trips. Wilderness permits are required for overnight backpacker stays in many places. This impressive place has inspired photographers, painters, writers and musicians. Once again, so much that I could mention here. A wonderfully quiet place and of course ideal for a picnic.

I hope these few examples have given you some ideas of where you might like to have a picnic in the US!

My best wishes,

Richard
