Tarot Card Readings: How Can Tarot Cards Predict the Future?

Is there any science behind how a Tarot reading can predict one’s future?

Science, of course, is now catching up on how a tarot reading can predict the future. I feel like quantum physics has provided a lot of “clues” as well. Dr. David Hawkins has done some interesting experiments and has some interesting ideas on energy attraction patterns.

Currently, the main ideology used to explain them is synchronicity.

Where did the idealism of synchronicity come from?

Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung. He is considered the founder of analytical psychology. He lectured at many leading universities like Yale. Although he was a psychiatrist, much of his life’s work was devoted to understanding synchronicity, astrology, tarot, and alchemy.

What is synchronicity?

The theory of synchronicity can be summed up as “coincidence”; that is, two events that come together in a significant way, outside the realm of “chance”. Jung’s experiments with synchronicity were carried out at the CG Jung Institute in Zurich.

Can you give some examples of synchronicity in real life?

Even before a client comes in for a tarot reading, the client will have experiences of synchronicity. Clients who have love challenges, for example, will get “signals” from their lover all over the place.

They may go to a store and listen to a song that they associated with their lover. You will see the type of car your lover drives everywhere. Many times they do not know how to interpret the synchronistic events that they are receiving and that is what really drives them to go to a tarot reading.

I was once with a client, who was doing spiritual work to heal his lover from the fear of letting people shut down, he was very frustrated that it didn’t seem to be working. We were in the car together driving to a lecture I was giving and he blurted out in a frustrated tone, “DJ, when is this magic going to work?”

Just then a truck passed with the words “Magic Works” largely painted on the side.

The work he was doing worked in no time and they were happily reunited.

How does synchronicity work in a Tarot reading?

I like to think of synchronicity in the same way as dream interpretation. In a dream, you will often get a symbolism that you have to interpret. To understand the meaning of the dream, you need to interpret the symbols based on what those symbols mean to you in your life experience. If you love cats and you have a dream about cats, it will be a very different interpretation / meaning, then another person having the same dream about cats who is afraid of cats.

In a tarot reading, the tarot reader spreads out the cards. The tarot reader is intellectually trained in how to interpret the symbolism and / or has psychic abilities that draw him to certain symbols on the cards that relate to his situation. You see that the higher power, the collective unconscious, or divine intelligence speaks the language of symbols.
