Wooler is a small town located in Northumberland in England. It borders Northumberland National Park, with the Cheviot Hills in close proximity. Wooler – The Cochrane Pike Route will take you through Sheep Country, where you will be enchanted by the sounds of the Oystercatcher, Curlew, Meadow Pipit, and Lark.
An easy and interesting option is to take one of the four Cornhill routes that traverse the countryside immediately around Wooler. You will walk along old train tracks, country trails, riverside trails, and bridle paths. The time required for the various routes is different, but generally you do not need to be very fit to embark on one of the Cornhill routes.
