Put some fire in your desire

One of the keys to success is staying motivated because it is being motivated that gets us going out every day to change the world and reach our destiny! It is our desire for a better life, for change in ourselves and others, and for personal growth and fulfillment that moves our mountains! longed for!

Sure desire is a much richer word than the word “want”, although they are essentially the same. “I want”, however, sounds like you can take it or leave it. “I wish” says: “I have to have it!” Desire is “want” with a fire underneath!

Unfortunately, we tend to go back and forth from wanting to wanting, even with the same goal! One day we may be passionate about building our business or growing our relationships and then the next day we find ourselves simply in the “want” field again. The key to continuing is to rekindle the fire under need so that it roars into a raging fire of desire! Then, and only then, will we see the passion necessary to be tenacious pursuers of our dreams! Maintaining the bed of fire is what will take you through the mountains and valleys of life and the journey you are on to your success!

So what do we do? We light the fire! Here are some thoughts to help you light the fire of your desire!

Timber:

Keep a clear mental image of the goal. This is imperative. The image of the goal is like wood in a fire. It is the raw material. Know what your goal is and what it looks like.

The fuel:

Keep a list, albeit a mental one, of all the benefits of pursuing and achieving your goal. Make them as “sense” oriented as possible. “See” the benefits. “Listen to them. “Touch them. This is like the fuel we add to the fire to light it. Now all we need is a match.

The game:

Stay active! This is the match: Action! Even when you don’t feel like it, take action and soon you will see the fire burning because you have rekindled the dream! The more you want, the more the fire burns.

Eventually, the fire will begin to die down. This is where the wood is thrown back, to ignite some fuel, and if necessary, another match is lit. However, I encourage you not to let the fire go out, because it is easier to continuously throw wood and fuel on a fire that is already burning than to light it again.
