Prescription Fentanyl in Pill Form?

Prescription Fentanyl in Pill Form

What is the problem with prescription fentanyl in pill form? The reason why this synthetic opioid is now legal in most states but still not covered by most insurance companies is mainly because of the lack of addiction potential. Fentanyl, which is manufactured from morphine and is 50 times more toxic than heroin, is very difficult to take in any form for a long time. When it is taken orally, the entire body receives a strong rush, which can be quite addictive. So why would someone be tempted to take this drug?

There are many theories about why people choose heroin over other more conventional drugs. For one, the addiction is much easier to achieve because the user receives a powerful hit instantly. Also, withdrawal is much easier as there are fewer side effects. For many users, heroin is the only drug that offers this kind of high. However, once the user has kicked this habit, they often find themselves needing to take the medication again to maintain the same high.

This is why it is so hard to say whether or not taking a prescription form of Fentanyl is actually better for the consumer than simply popping pills. Some experts believe that addiction is a complex beast and there are many factors at work. For example, taking the medication on a daily basis does not remove the receptors in the brain, which means that it will do little to nothing to curb future drug use. Another drawback is that users of prescription medication are at a greater risk of contracting another addiction, such as prescription heroin or prescription methadone, because once a person becomes addicted to one drug, they are more likely to become addicted to others as well.

Another possible explanation is that the dosage of Fentanyl, while relatively small, is enough to mimic the physical effects of a large dose of heroin. And since Fentanyl is also mixed with other substances to increase its effect, the user ends up getting higher dosages and higher amounts of the drug in their system every time they pop a new bottle of medication. It’s like they are playing Russian roulette with their bodies. Addicts frequently overdose on Fentanyl; however, since the majority of overdoses occur in the first two or three days after taking the drug, this is not an immediate indicator of impending death.

If someone were to ask me the question of whether or not I would support the use of Fentanyl Pill in any way, I would have to honestly answer in the affirmative. However, I would also say that this is a highly addictive drug, which has numerous side effects. Because of this many users lose interest and stop taking the medication. Eventually, the user ends up in a completely futile situation because the drugs have completely taken over their life and there is no longer any meaningful way for them to control the drugs.

Prescription medication for long-term (many months) usage is an absolute must for anyone who wants to battle with heroin addiction. If you’re an addict trying to kick the habit, I urge you to seek professional help from a reputable doctor or health care practitioner. You owe it to yourself to at least consult a doctor before beginning any type of drug therapy. Do not use prescription Fentanyl!
