Myth of impossibility about public accounting

Public Accounting is one of those qualifications that have advanced impressively in a short compass time and have reformed its scope from just accounting to much more to offer jobs to people in various fields like auditing, business consulting, managerial positions, financial positions. key, risk managers, tax advisors, company secretaries, etc. Public Accounting is a lucrative and prestigious qualification and is considered the most prominent qualification in the accounting field.

It is highly plausible that most of the organizational secretaries, CFOs, CEOs, managers, corporate tax advisors, company directors, internal auditors and senior bankers you see around you are CPAs. All external auditors (AUDITORS they are people who inspect the annual or semi-annual financial reports issued by companies, NGOs, etc. and certify the accuracy of the information presented in them) are, by acquisition of law, Chartered Accountants in Pakistan. Pakistan government substance auditors are not so much CA. They are people who pass the aggressive exams required to post to a management foundation and may simply have a B.Com foundation. Government auditors work under the guidelines of the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) and the Accountant General of Revenue of Pakistan (AGPR).

“THE WORLD IS WITHIN YOUR REACH, BECOME AN AUTHORIZED ACCOUNTANT AND SPREAD YOUR WINGS”

This is the message from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) for potential candidates who wish to pursue a profession in Chartered Accounting (CA). I must agree that there is much truth in it.

It is a deep rooted myth in Pakistan that choosing the CPA profession as a career is stupid because it is too challenging so it is impossible to pass. I can guarantee you that it is simply a fable. CA is an exceptionally competent credential and takes diligent work, enthusiastic study, and standard to pass, but it is not unattainable. It is also a fact that some students get caught up in it. However, people who are stuck are usually in the last stage of AC and not in the middle. There are numerous explanations behind that:

FIRST: Students hear so much from people around them that CA is extremely troublesome that when they pass CA Inter, they regard it as achieving a big milestone. This compliance combined with a few different variables makes students exceptionally apathetic and uninspired by study.

SECOND: The ship-item is the beginning of expert life for a student. He hears so much about him being captivating that getting there is by all accounts an ultimate goal. They go to clients where they are treated as if they were fully qualified appraisers. This makes them feel that they have reached the last stage and that no more battle is needed.

THIRD: Students see some of their older adults, who leave the company and effectively find stable jobs only on the premise of their CA Inter and the finished article. This makes them feel like it’s okay if I’m not ready to finish it, I’ll still find a good job and earn a decent living.

FOUR: They need to work as a full-time rep and at some point they even need to invest more energy to finish the due date jobs. In the beginning, when he enters the firm as a crusty student, he is very energetic and needs to show the maximum capacity of him to his new collaborators. By doing so, they despise their studies.

FIFTH: Once a person starts a job and becomes competent, it is exceptionally difficult to decide to study. In such a circumstance, one totally ignores the study and gives all his consideration regarding employment.

SIXTH: Since a student is similar to a review company worker, the review company hardly thinks about their students finishing their CA qualification. There is no routine of acknowledging students to participate in their studies, rather they do the opposite. Their state of mind is more like that of the general manager and studies seem to be a useless exercise and its benefits for them, so they excel more at work than in studies.

So one should not chase a myth and give up. All you need is dedication, motivation, and hard work to qualify as a certified public accountant.
